I have complained to the state electricity company (PLN) three
times during my six-month stay in Bekasi, West Java. I sent my
written complaints on April 18, June 7, and Aug. 9. I have a
problem with the "careless current meter recordings," done by PLN
staff.
On my July bill the electricity usage was recorded at 3180,
while in fact our meter showed 2445. I had to pay Rp 45,095, a
considerable increase in my electricity bill.
I wasted my time going to the company's office to discuss the
faulty recordings.
Ironically, when a customer happens to delay the payment of
the bill, the company never hesitates to immediately sanction the
unfortunate customer.
