Not Over Yet: After Dismissal, Police Chief Didik Named Suspect Again Over Rp2.8 Billion in Drug Kingpin Payments
Jakarta — A new chapter has emerged in the narcotics case ensnaring former Bima Kota Police Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Didik Putra Kuncoro.
After being dismissed through an ethics hearing, Didik has once again been named a suspect in a separate case. This time, he faces allegations of receiving proceeds from narcotics crimes totalling a staggering Rp2.8 billion.
Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, revealed that the suspect designation was made by the Narcotics Directorate of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police on Monday, 16 February 2026.
“In the case of alleged receipt of proceeds from narcotics crimes from AKP M (Malaungi) valued at Rp2.8 billion,” he said, as quoted on Friday, 20 February 2026.
Eko further explained that based on examination findings, Adjunct Commissioner Malaungi, who at the time served as Head of the Narcotics Unit at Bima Kota Police, had met with drug kingpin Koh Erwin together with AS, described as the network’s treasurer.
During that meeting, Malaungi allegedly requested money from Koh Erwin to be subsequently handed over to Didik, who was then still serving as Bima Kota Police Chief.
“Upon further examination, AKP M revealed that he had been receiving money from the drug kingpin from June to November 2025,” he said.
The matter did not end there — the majority of the money received by Malaungi reportedly flowed to Didik.
“The total amount of money handed over to AKBP DPK was Rp2.8 billion,” he said.
For his actions, Didik now faces charges under Article 114 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (2), or Article 137 Letter A of Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics.
“Carrying penalties of death, life imprisonment, or a maximum prison sentence of 20 years,” he said.
Previously, the fate of the former Bima Kota Police Chief had already been decided. The panel of the National Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) officially imposed a sanction of Dishonourable Discharge (PTDH) from the police force.
The ruling was handed down during an ethics hearing held at National Police Headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday, 19 February 2026. The panel was chaired by the Deputy Inspector General of the National Police, Inspector General Merdisyam, taking into consideration the examination of 18 witnesses.
