Not an Ordinary Bicycle: When Cycling and Sharing Become One Movement During Ramadan
RAMADAN Ramadan always has a way of bringing people together in a shared spirit, namely #JadiLebihBaik. This year, that spirit is realised through a collaborative movement titled Not an Ordinary Bicycle, part of IP Sportainment BOB (Not an Ordinary Sport) initiated by Susu Mbok Darmi.
Not an Ordinary Bicycle runs as part of Susu Mbok Darmi’s #JadiLebihBaik campaign to promote the brand’s sugar-based products among consumers.
That afternoon, dozens of cyclists gathered in brightly coloured jerseys. Not for a race, not for competition, but for a simple aim: #JadiLebihBaik.
Not an Ordinary Bicycle comprises two components: Jadi Lebih Bike and Bogor Berbagi. Jadi Lebih Bike grew from the BOB ethos—Not an Ordinary Sport—a concept that believes sport today is not merely physical activity but part of a lifestyle, networking, and even a space for collaboration.
Combining an active lifestyle, spiritual values, and social concern, the event offers a distinct ngabuburit experience in Bogor. Around 50 cyclists from 10 communities will participate in an 11 km ride with a route starting and finishing at Bebek Goreng H Slamet Bangbarung.
Not just cycling
After the refreshing ride, the event continued with a kultum session on the theme ‘Becoming Better: Small, Consistent Endeavours’, inviting participants to reflect on the meaning of istiqamah in daily life.
The momentum then closed with a communal iftar and Bogor Berbagi, namely the distribution of takjil resulting from collaborations with various local F&B brands.
‘Through BOB, we want sport to be more than movement; it should be a space for networking, expression, and social contribution. Ramadan is the right time to reinforce those values,’ said Dhony Pratama, CEO of Susu Mbok Darmi.
From yoga to cycling, from the community to the city
Previously, the BOB series has featured activities such as yoga and community engagement. This Ramadan, cycling was chosen for a reason. The healthy lifestyle trend in Jabodetabek shows growing interest in community sports, including cycling.
But what makes it different is the meaningful touch. The 11 km route is not just about distance; each pedal stroke becomes a symbol of small, steady effort in line with the message of the kultum delivered before breaking fast. For big changes, indeed, start with small steps.
After the ride the atmosphere warmed. Takjil were distributed to people in need in the surrounding areas. The programme, previously known as ‘Darmi Berbagi’, has evolved into ‘Bogor Berbagi’, widening space for local F&B brands to join in the social movement.
Not merely branding, but real involvement. In the modern era, people connect more with brands that appear in experiences rather than merely on a timeline.
More than an event, this is a movement. When sport, spirituality, and collaboration meet in one moment, what is created is not just an event but a movement.
