Jakarta (ANTARA) - The North Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department has recorded enforcement actions against 1,007 vehicles violating traffic rules in the local area from January 2026 to March 2026. “A total of 1,007 vehicles were found violating rules in North Jakarta during that period,” said Yulza Ramadhoni Putra, Head of the Traffic and Road Transport Operations Control Section of the North Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, in Jakarta on Tuesday. He stated that the enforcement targeted various types of vehicles breaching regulations, including public transport, pick-up trucks, box vans, trucks, motorcycles, and private vehicles. According to him, supervision and enforcement are carried out routinely to provide a deterrent effect while maintaining smooth traffic flow, particularly at violation-prone points. He mentioned that 794 vehicles were issued Examination Report Notices (BAP) or tickets, and 25 vehicles were subjected to operational stop sanctions. Additionally, 40 two-wheeled vehicles and five four-wheeled vehicles underwent Tyre Deflation Operations (OCP) during that period. Meanwhile, 213 vehicles were towed and impounded by officers due to illegal parking. He emphasised that all enforcement actions have been based on applicable regulations as part of efforts to create public order on roadways. According to him, around 40 combined personnel are deployed daily to patrol violation-prone locations, especially areas often used for illegal parking. He urged the public to be more disciplined in traffic, including complying with signs and not parking vehicles haphazardly. “Through consistent and measured enforcement, we hope that public awareness of traffic compliance, particularly in North Jakarta, will continue to increase,” he said.
