The Head of Traffic and Land Transport Operations (LLAJR) for North Jakarta’s Sudinhub, Yulza Ramadhoni, stated in Jakarta on Tuesday: “We are focusing on mobile surveillance using tow trucks every day, and any violators are towed away and subjected to enforcement action.”

According to him, North Jakarta’s Sudinhub operates ten tow truck units daily to conduct mobile surveillance and take action against cars and motorcycles parked on road shoulders.

“Parking on road shoulders is extremely dangerous to traffic safety and we are cracking down on this,” Yulza stated firmly.

Nevertheless, he acknowledged that the authority has not yet implemented mass impounding operations or tyre-puncturing enforcement against violators. However, the agency is gradually conducting public outreach and routine field surveillance.

“The tow trucks operate five units during the first shift and five units during the second shift. When a violation occurs, the vehicle is immediately towed to the office,” Yulza explained.

He also urged the public and road users to always follow regulations and not park their vehicles illegally.

“Illegal parking is dangerous and very risky. We will continue to take enforcement action,” Yulza said.

Furthermore, he noted that towing is also carried out upon request from district authorities that discover illegally parked vehicles in violation of regulations.

“Residents caught violating the rules will be called to the office and required to make a statement or may face enforcement action in accordance with existing regulations,” Yulza added.
