North Aceh Regent Urges Disaster Victims to Check Housing Verification Announcements
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) — North Aceh Regent Ismail A Jalil has urged disaster victims of flooding and landslides in the region to carefully examine the first phase verification and validation results for housing damage data, which have been posted in every village across the district.
“We are asking the public to proactively check the first phase verification and validation results for housing damage data from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB),” said North Aceh District Government spokesperson Muntasir Ramli, contacted in Banda Aceh on Saturday.
He explained that the measure was taken to ensure the accuracy of data on disaster-affected residents before the BNPB assistance process is carried out.
“The North Aceh Regent, popularly known as Ayah Wa, together with Deputy Regent Tarmizi Panyang, is committed to championing residents’ aspirations, as affirmed during the evaluation meeting with BNPB on 16 February 2026,” he said.
The BNPB team has currently completed verification in five sub-districts: Tanah Jambo Aye, Sawang, Muara Batu, Seunuddon, and Langkahan. Other sub-districts are still undergoing verification, validation, and data matching by the technical team.
Muntasir explained that as a form of transparency, the verification results have now entered a three-day public review phase. Announcements are being made through loudspeakers in villages, and lists of names have been posted in strategic locations for easy public access.
“Residents who believe they meet the established criteria but are not included on the housing recipient list may submit their responses or objections by filling in the forms provided,” he said.
The objection mechanism requires residents to submit the form to the village head, who will forward it to the sub-district head and subsequently to the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) post for re-verification.
“Essentially, the regent and deputy regent’s hope is that no disaster victim whose house has been damaged and who meets the criteria should feel disadvantaged or overlooked in this process,” Muntasir said.
