Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has confirmed that the increase in prices of non-subsidised fuels is still likely to continue, particularly with the ongoing dynamics of unstable global energy prices.

Director General of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of ESDM, Laode Sulaiman, stated that the government has signalled further adjustments for non-subsidised fuels.

“If I’m not mistaken, the Minister announced it yesterday, there will be more like that,” said Laode when met at the Ministry of ESDM on Monday evening (4/5/2026).

Laode explained that these price fluctuations are inseparable from the still turbulent international geopolitical conditions. Although prices are rising, the government emphasises that its main focus at present is to maintain national energy resilience.

“The most important thing for us right now is to keep the stock safe. That’s it for now, we don’t need to think about it yet. But the stock is safe, that’s the most important,” said Laode.

As is known, the price of diesel fuel at private fuel stations and Pertamina stations has once again increased.

For example, the price of VIVO’s Primus Diesel fuel is priced at Rp30,890 per litre, while BP-AKR’s BP Ultimate Diesel is also priced at Rp30,890 per litre.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Dex has also increased to Rp27,900 per litre, up from the previous Rp23,900 per litre.
