The wife of Immanuel Ebenezer (Noel), Silvia Rinita Harefa, visited the KPK detention centre on the occasion of Eid today. She brought vegetables and ketupat for her husband. “Earlier I brought vegetables and ketupat,” said Silvia to reporters after the visit at the KPK detention centre in South Jakarta on Saturday (21/3/2026). Silvia admitted there was no specific request from Noel regarding the food brought. The distribution of food types is done voluntarily by each detainee’s family. “Indeed, from the coordinator in the group, each family is assigned to bring food; some bring semur, vegetables. I happened to be assigned vegetables,” she said. During the visit, she confirmed that her husband’s condition was healthy. “He’s healthy, looks healthy,” she stated. Silvia recounted that during the meeting, Noel instead gave back the food ration from inside the detention to his family. That food, according to Silvia, is the daily ration for the detainees. “Then we were given their ration food (food) from inside. He told us to take it so the family can taste it,” said Silvia. She then showed the contents of that food, consisting of rice, vegetables, eggs, and fruit. According to her, the food was deliberately not eaten by the detainees and was asked to be taken home by the family. “It’s just their allocated ration,” said Silvia. The Eid visit at the KPK detention centre lasts longer than on regular days. She mentioned the visiting time starts from 10:00 to 13:00 WIB. “From 10 o’clock to 1 o’clock (afternoon). On holidays, it’s extended by one hour from the regular visit,” she added. For information, the KPK provides opportunities for detainees to meet their families during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 moment. The number of detainees reaches 81 people. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that this service is given to uphold the principle of human rights (HAM) for the detainees. All such facilities are provided while still considering security aspects. “Thus, the KPK affirms that the law enforcement process carried out does not ignore humanitarian values, but runs in tandem with respect for the basic rights of every individual,” said Budi to reporters on Friday (20/3).
