JAKARTA — The head of the Special Development Control and Investigation Agency (Bappisus), Aries Marsudiyanto, has assured that subsidised fuel prices and BPJS Health insurance contributions will not rise as a result of Middle East conflict.

Aries expressed hope that the war involving Iran, the United States, and Israel would end swiftly. “No, as Minister Bahlil explained previously, there will be no fuel price increase. Let’s hope the war ends quickly,” Aries said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

Aries stated that President Prabowo Subianto understands what the government must do to address this global turbulence. “The fundamental principle is that everything is secure: food, fuel, and energy. Our economy is fundamentally strong; Indonesia is strong,” he said.

Earlier, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia confirmed that fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stocks are secure ahead of Eid al-Fitr, following tensions between Israel and Iran. “Our fuel stocks for Eid al-Fitr are, God willing, fully secure, including LPG. There is no reason for concern, despite the global developments involving Iran and Israel,” Bahlil said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

Fuel prices will remain unchanged despite potential increases in crude oil prices resulting from Iran-Israel conflict. For non-subsidised fuel, prices will follow market mechanisms in accordance with the 2022 regulations from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.
