TANGERANG — The registration post for the Free Motorcycle Transport (Motis) programme at Tangerang Station was observed to be quiet on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. No long queues were visible at the location positioned at the corner of the station car park.

Based on observations by Kompas.com, participants who arrived proceeded directly to the document verification desk without having to wait long. Four officers were seen serving registrations and examining documents in rotation.

Forms completed by participants were checked, whilst documents such as family cards, identity cards, class C driving licences, and vehicle registration numbers were verified through systems on laptops available at the officers’ desks. The process ran smoothly, preventing any backlog.

“I just arrived and they processed it straight away, it happens to be quiet. It was different from the day before, which was apparently crowded. Maybe it’s also the effect of the rain this morning,” said Hermawan when met at the location.

According to him, the verification process took place quickly with no significant obstacles. Participants only need to present required documentation that is still valid, namely an identity card, driving licence, vehicle registration number, and family card.

Hermawan said this was his third time participating in the Motis programme to return home to Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. He considered the programme more practical and safer compared to riding a motorcycle over a long distance.

“The motorcycle travels on the train with us, we just sit comfortably. When we arrive at the village, there’s already a vehicle available, so we’re not confused about where to go,” he said.

Beyond administrative requirements, participants also received technical explanations regarding motorcycle shipping. One of these is that the maximum engine capacity is 200 cubic centimetres.

Motorcycles to be shipped must be in a condition with empty fuel tanks and empty luggage. Mirrors are also requested to be removed to reduce the risk of damage during transport.

Subsequently, motorcycles are brought to Tangerang Station according to a determined schedule, then packaged and handled by officers until arrival at the destination city.

“Usually they give us a cardboard box so we’re not worried about scratches,” said Hermawan.

Registration can be conducted online through the nusantara.kemenhub.go.id website or directly at several stations, including Tangerang Station.

Although the registration post atmosphere was relatively quiet on the third day of registration, officers remained on standby to serve members of the public wishing to utilise the programme.
