Jakarta – Processing land documentation on weekdays often presents a challenge for individuals with routine activities from Monday to Friday. Limited time availability compels some applicants to take leave or request special permission solely to visit land registry offices.

Since 2022, the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR) and the National Land Agency (BPN) have launched the Weekend Land Service (PELATARAN) across 107 land registry offices distributed throughout various regions. This service provides an alternative for citizens to process land documents outside regular working hours.

In Bogor Regency, the service has been utilised by Matsarip (49), who visited the Bogor Regency Land Registry Office I on Saturday, 21 February 2026 to collect a certificate resulting from a rights upgrade from Building Use Rights (HGB) to Ownership Rights. Prior to learning about PELATARAN, he had been offered assistance by intermediaries at what he considered substantial cost. However, after handling the matter himself through the weekend service, he discovered the official fee required.

“Someone offered to help, but when I handled it myself, it turned out to cost only Rp 50,000 with no additional charges. It turns out it’s easy to handle myself – some people said it was complicated, but it was actually very quick,” he said.

Similar experiences were shared by Dewi (43), an office worker who previously had to request work leave each time she needed to process land documentation. After learning of the weekend service, she chose to visit on her day off.

“Initially I came on a weekday, but the officer informed me they open on Saturday. I come now because taking leave repeatedly on weekdays isn’t ideal. It really makes things easier for us workers – we can handle it during our days off,” Dewi said.

The PELATARAN programme operates in cities and regencies with high volumes of land registry services across 33 provinces. Information regarding land registry offices offering weekend services is accessible through the official portal provided by the ATR/BPN. The service’s availability provides an alternative for citizens with time constraints during weekdays to independently process land documents according to procedures.
