The "No Change" sign at the Pondok Gede Timur tollgate has been ineffective as many motorists enter it without paying the exact fee. They pay more than the toll price and do not bother to ask for the change.
The tollgate cashiers are obviously delighted with this kind of motorist and they appear to give them more courteous services than to those who pay the prescribed fee.
As a motorist who always takes the trouble to make sure to have the exact amount of money for the toll, I feel hurt and question the discipline of PT Jasa Marga, the toll road operator.
The operator has a ruling about payments: "Those motorists who fail to give the exact amount of money for the toll should immediately park their cars in the safety lane and PT Jasa Marga officials will later bring the change."
As a state-owned company, PT Jasa Marga should uphold its own regulation and see to it that their employees will not be viewed in a bad light.
