Nine Foreign Nationals Arrested for Entering Makkah Without Hajj Permit
MINA — Security patrols in Makkah have arrested four nationals from India and Bangladesh in connection with a fraud and embezzlement case involving the publication of fake advertisements and misleading information concerning hajj services on social media platforms.
The authorities have seized forged cards, documents, and equipment used in the scheme. The suspects have been detained, processed through the legal system, and referred to the Public Prosecution.
Meanwhile, hajj security personnel have also arrested five Turkish nationals for violating hajj regulations and provisions by attempting to enter and reside in Makkah via village roads and valleys without obtaining hajj authorisation.
As a result of these actions, Saudi Arabian authorities have initiated legal proceedings against the individuals.
The authorities have urged the public to comply with regulations governing the 1447 Hijriyah (2026) hajj season and to cooperate with relevant authorities in order to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims. The authorities have also emphasised that violators will be subject to legal sanctions.
Furthermore, the public have been requested to report violations by contacting 911 in the Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern Region areas, and 999 in other regions of Saudi Arabia.
