NIIT to train Indonesians

NEW DELHI (DPA): The National Institute of Information
Technology (NIIT), a premier Indian software and computer
training firm, has signed an agreement with an Indonesian
organization for providing computer training services there, a
senior NIIT official said yesterday.

NIIT will set up its first center in Indonesia in the second
half of this year under the agreement with Yayasan Pendidikan
Iimu Pengetahuan Trust (YPIP), NIIT-ASEAN president Rahul
Patwardhan said.

"This agreement with YPIP is a part of our major expansion in
the ASEAN region. It follows the successful execution of several
software development projects in Indonesia," the chief of the
institute's southeast Asian subsidiary said.
