New hospital in Bumi Serpong
JAKARTA (JP): PT KPJ Medica, an Indonesian-Malaysian joint
venture company, will build a 100-bed hospital in Bumi Serpong
Damai, 50 kilometers west of here, in August.
The company's chief commissioner, Rahmat Ismail, said the
hospital, which will require a US$11 million investment, is
expected to start operation by early 1997.
The hospital will be 75 percent owned by Kumpulan Perubatan
Johor (KPJ) Sdn. Bhd. of Malaysia and 25 percent by PT Optima
Dipa Medica of Indonesia.
The two companies -- members of the communication forum for
business people of the same origin (Fokus), which groups mostly
Malay businessmen from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore
-- signed the joint-venture agreement on Saturday.
The hospital will be built on a 12,000 square meter plot.
Dato' Mohammad Ali of the KPJ said the construction,
facilities and management of the planned hospital will follow the
international quality standardization applied to all of KPJ's
hospitals.
KPJ, the health-care division of Johor State Economic
Development Corporation, owns and manages seven hospitals in
Malaysia. (rid)
