New entertainment facility at Ancol
JAKARTA (JP): Jakarta Governor Surjadi Soedirdja is scheduled tonight to initiate the operation of Wahana Ramasinta, a new entertainment facility located in Dunia Fantasi at the Ancol Dreamland complex in North Jakarta.
The Rp 29-billion facility stands on 9,370 square meters of land. The complex has a 356-meter-long canal that is 3-meters wide, which visitors will be able to navigate in the 12 boats available.
The new recreation facility will use bio-animatronic robots. The movement of the human-shaped robots will be controlled by electric-hydraulic simulation.
Hundreds of local artists and experts in lighting and fashion will be involved in the shows.
Visitors will be able to watch Ramasinta scenes, played by animated dolls, from the boats in the canals.
PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, which manages the recreation center, said that the new Ramasinta recreation area is expected to be one of its star attractions.
Group admission prices will range between Rp 13,300 and Rp 16,500 per person while individuals will pay between Rp 20,500 and Rp 23,500.
From January to September this year more than 2,200,000 people visited Ancol Dreamland, down from 2,960,042 visitors last year.
Surjadi will also hand out free entrance tickets to orphanages in Jakarta and members of the Jakarta Veterans Association.
Members of the Jakarta-based Indonesian Association of Puppeteers (Persatuan Pedalang Indonesia) will also be invited to today's ceremony. (05)
