New Danza D9 launched: how does it differ from the previous generation?
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Danza has introduced the New D9 with several improvements over the previous generation, including a second-generation Blade Battery, increased power, revised suspension, and additional safety and cabin-comfort features.
Bobby Bharata, Head of Product at PT BYD Motor Indonesia, said the updates were intended to improve driving comfort, noting that more than 10,000 customers in Indonesia had used the Danza D9 since its launch in 2025.
“We felt there were improvements we needed to make to the New D9. The aim is to provide a more comfortable driving experience,” Bobby said at a media embargo event in Jakarta on Monday (12 October).
In terms of performance, the New D9 uses a 115 kWh second-generation Blade Battery, an 11 per cent increase on the previous model.
Most notably, the latest BYD battery enables the New D9 to support BYD Flash Charging technology, launched in Indonesia alongside the model and the Z9 GT on Wednesday (14 October).
The ultra-fast charging technology can charge the battery from 10 per cent to 70 per cent in just five minutes, and to 97 per cent in nine minutes. This is one of the New D9’s key upgrades, offering a substantially shorter charging time.
BYD and Danza vehicles equipped with the previous-generation Blade Battery do not support charging at this speed, which comes close to the time needed to refuel a conventional car.
Inside, the New D9 now features 16 premium Devialet speakers. The massage-seat function has also been upgraded, from four points on the previous model to 10, with adjustable modes and pressure levels.
The New D9 adds storage space beneath the boot floor and two 40-watt wireless chargers at the front. Previously, wireless charging supported only one phone.
Another update is the interior layout. The electronic gear selector has been moved to the steering column, freeing up space and giving the centre console a cleaner appearance.
The New D9 is available in four exterior colours: Cosmos Black, Arctic White, Starry Night Grey and Whale Sea Blue. BYD announced that it will be sold for Rp1.08 billion.
