New Brimob chief installed
JAKARTA (JP): National Police chief Gen. Surojo Bimantoro installed on Monday Brig. Gen. Jusuf Mangga Barani as the new chief of the Police Mobil Brigade (Brimob), replacing Brig. Gen. Nurdin Usman who will serve as chief of the West Kalimantan Police.
Jusuf, who is currently deputy chief of the South Sulawesi Police, has spent most of his career with the elite police unit, whose officers have been in the forefront of dealing with unrest and mass demonstrations.
Meanwhile, Nurdin will replace current West Kalimantan Police chief Brig. Gen. Atok Rismanto. Atok will be assigned to National Police headquarters as a senior staff officer.
Separately, city police chief Insp. Gen. Mulyono Sulaiman on Monday installed Adj. Sr. Comr. Affan Kriswanto as the new Tangerang Police chief, replacing Adj. Sr. Comr. Syafei Aksal. (jun)
