New Borehole Constructed in Lambleut Village, Residents No Longer Face Clean Water Difficulties
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ACEH BESAR — Access to clean water remains a fundamental need for many regions, especially in supporting health, productivity, and the quality of life for communities. The provision of clean water facilities is also a key factor influencing environmental resilience and the welfare of residents at the village level.
The community of Meunasah Gampong Lambleut, Darul Kamal District, Aceh Besar, now has access to a clean water borehole, which was inaugurated by the Association of National Village Deliberative Bodies (Abpednas) together with PT Sucofindo (Persero).
Sucofindo’s President Director, Sandry Pasambuna, stated that the inauguration was a follow-up to the program to build 70 clean water boreholes in various regions to commemorate Sucofindo’s 70th anniversary.
“The construction of clean water boreholes is part of Sucofindo’s commitment to providing social programs that offer tangible benefits to the community,” said Sandry in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (June 3, 2026).
According to Sandry, the availability of clean water not only helps meet the basic needs of the community but also has the potential to support improved health and welfare.
Sucofindo’s Independent Commissioner, Mahatma Gandhi, said that access to clean water has a broad impact on people’s lives.
“Therefore, this clean water borehole construction program has a very strategic value and is in line with the TJSL program, which focuses on meeting the basic needs of the community and providing sustainable added value,” said Mahatma.
Regent of Aceh Besar, Muharram Idris, appreciated the collaboration to provide clean water facilities for the community of Gampong Lambleut. According to him, the existence of the borehole needs to be maintained so that its benefits can be felt in the long term.
“I also hope that the community of Gampong Lambleut can maintain, care for, and utilize this borehole as well as possible so that it can be used in the long term,” said Idris.
Chairman of Abpednas, Indra Utama, said that village development is not only related to physical infrastructure but also ensures that communities have access to decent basic needs.
“We hope that this facility can be used properly and maintained together by the community so that its benefits can be felt sustainably,” said Indra.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Abpednas Supervisory Board, Reda Manthovani, emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining the sustainability of the social programs that have been built.
“The success of a program is not only measured by the construction process but also by how the facilities can continue to be used and maintained together by the community sustainably,” said Reda.
