New Bogor regent installed
BOGOR (JP): West Java Governor R. Nuriana installed Col. Agus Utara Effendi on Monday as the new Bogor regent for a five-year term, replacing Eddie Yoso Martadipura who had held the position for two consecutive terms since 1988.
Agus, who was born in Bogor on Aug. 28, 1945, graduated from the National Military Academy in 1968. He is a former director for general affairs of the Kartika Eka Paksi Foundation owned by the Army.
Nuriana ordered Agus during the installation ceremony at the Bogor Legislative Council in Cibinong to give priority to projects badly needed by the regency.
He explained that the regency had been forced to cut the construction of its development projects from 41 to only 30 due to the crisis.
Agus was also asked to improve public services, especially in issuance of permits.
"The service should be quick and cheap, but not create new problems in the future," Nuriana added. (24/jun)
