Nephew caught for stealing

JAKARTA (JP): A man was arrested for allegedly breaking into his aunt's house in Tangerang, West Java, to steal her gold jewelry, police said.

City Police spokesman Lt. Col. E. Aritonang said yesterday the man made away with 128 grams of gold.

Aritonang said Ilham Fauzi, 18, broke into the house Sunday afternoon when the aunt, Kuncil, was on vacation in Ciater, West Java.

He said police officers, who brought a bloodhound, were deployed to investigate the robbery as soon as Kuncil reported the case to the nearby police station.

"The dog lead the officers to Ilham's house, which is located only about a hundred meters away from Kuncil's," Aritonang said.

Both police and Kuncil thought at first that the dog led them to the wrong person, he said.

But Ilham confessed during questioning that he was the robber, he said.

Ilham was being held in detention at Tangerang Police precinct for further investigation, Aritonang said. (cst)
