Neighbour Next Door Turns Predator! 25-Year-Old Labourer Alleged to Rape Disabled Woman in Citeureup
Bogor Regency, VIVA – A man identified by the initials A (25) has been arrested in connection with alleged sexual violence against a woman with an intellectual disability in Citeureup District, Bogor Regency, West Java. It was the Sat Res PPA dan PPO of Bogor Police Resort (Polres Bogor) responsible for uncovering the case after receiving a report from the public. The case originated from police report number LP/B/2439/XII/2024/SPKT/RES BGR/POLDA JABAR, received in December 2024. ‘After receiving the report, we conducted investigations and prosecutions gradually, prioritising protection and specialised support for the victim,’ said Ajun Komisaris Polisi Silfi Adi Putri, head of the Sat Res PPA dan PPO Polres Bogor, on Thursday, 5 March 2026. The incident is believed to have occurred on Saturday, 14 December 2024, at around 01:30 WIB in Kampung Kebon Kopi, Desa Puspanegara, Citeureup District, Bogor Regency. The victim is 42 years old and has an intellectual disability. The suspect, initials A (25), is a casual daily labourer who lives next door to the victim. After the evidence was deemed sufficient, investigators arrested the suspect on Monday, 2 March 2026 at around 14:00 WIB. ‘The suspect has been secured and is currently detained at the Bogor Police Resort Detention House to undergo further legal proceedings,’ he said. During the investigation, police also secured several pieces of evidence, including the results of a visum et repertum (VER) as part of the case’s evidentiary materials. For his actions, the suspect is charged under Article 473(2)(d) and/or Article 415(a) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP) with a maximum penalty of 12 years’ imprisonment. The Bogor Police emphasise their commitment to handling every report of criminal acts professionally, particularly cases involving victims from vulnerable groups. ‘We are committed to protecting the victim and ensuring the legal process is carried out professionally to deliver justice for the community,’ they said.
