NEC showcases smart manufacturing solutions for Industry 4.0 transformation

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Information and communications technology provider PT NEC Indonesia showcased a range of smart manufacturing solutions to accelerate the transformation of the national industry at the Indonesia 4.0 Conference & Expo 2026.

The event, which was also initiated by the Indonesian Industrial Digital Transformation Council (WANTRII), adopted the theme “AI-Powered Industry – Shaping the Future of Intelligent Enterprise”. It brought together industry players, government, academics and technology providers to accelerate Indonesia’s Industry 4.0 transformation through the use of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

“We believe that the use of innovative technologies such as AI, automation and data-based solutions will make a significant contribution to increasing the productivity and competitiveness of the national industry,” NEC Indonesia President Director Akifumi Katano said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Akifumi said NEC remained committed to supporting the development of industrial human-resource capabilities and accelerating the realisation of the Making Indonesia 4.0 vision.

The exhibition also featured an interactive experience called Work Process Recognition (WPR), an AI-based solution that enables organisations to understand and optimise manual work processes through video analysis.

This year, NEC Indonesia’s participation was supported by PT IFS Solusi Integrasi, which presented an Enterprise Asset Management solution to help organisations optimise asset use, streamline maintenance processes and improve operational efficiency across the board.

As well as presenting solutions in the exhibition area, NEC Indonesia shared practical experience intended to educate participants and provide material for learning.

NEC Indonesia, with support from ABeam Consulting Indonesia, also took part in the Warehouse of Idea workshop, introducing manufacturing solutions that can help companies accelerate their digital transformation.

In addition, NEC executives joined a panel discussion entitled “Workforce Transformation in the Age of Intelligent Industry”, which examined workforce transformation in the era of intelligent industry.
