Nearly Half a Million People Leave Bali Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026
Jembrana – Ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 2026 celebrations, the flow of people travelling home from Bali to Java continues unabated. According to data from the Lebaran Transport Post of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), nearly half a million individuals have crossed and left the Island of the Gods via Gilimanuk Port since H-10 to H-3 before Lebaran.
Cumulatively, from H-10 to H-3, the total number of passengers crossing from Bali to Java reached 457,611 people. This figure represents an increase of 7.2 per cent compared to the previous year’s realisation for the same period, which was 427,069 people.
In line with the passenger numbers, vehicle movements exiting Bali have also risen.
The total number of vehicles that crossed during that timeframe was recorded at 146,447 units, an 8.8 per cent increase from the same period last year, which reached 134,633 units.
Specifically, for the H-3 Lebaran recording (period of 18 March 2026 from 00:00 to 23:59 WIB), Gilimanuk Port served 74,213 people crossing to Java. This daily figure rose 65.2 per cent compared to H-3 the previous year, which was 44,925 people.
The total vehicle volume on H-3 reached 23,555 units, up 58.8 per cent from last year’s realisation of 14,837 units.
Broken down, the vehicles crossing were dominated by two-wheeled vehicles at 14,659 units and four-wheeled vehicles at 7,260 units. In addition, there were 1,051 truck units and 585 bus units that crossed. All movements on H-3 were facilitated through 239 crossing trips.
This outbound flow from Bali is in stark contrast to movements on the reverse route. Based on data from the Ketapang Post for the Java to Bali route, the number of passengers from H-10 to H-3 was recorded at 177,379 people, with a total of 34,335 vehicles. Specifically, for the H-3 recording from Ketapang, passengers entering Bali were recorded at 11,057 people with a total of 1,614 vehicles served through 255 crossing trips.
