National Traffic Police Chief Urges Units to Stay Alert, Predicts Busy Local Homecoming Tomorrow
The National Traffic Police Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, has conveyed predictions of increased density in agglomerative movements or local homecoming. He has requested that all units remain more alert.
“Instead, tomorrow will be dense with that agglomeration. So, local homecoming from Solo to Semarang, Semarang to Solo, from Bogor to Bekasi, we are anticipating that tomorrow,” said Inspector General Agus at the Command Centre KM 29 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, North Cikarang, Saturday (21/3/2026).
“Therefore, we hope that all personnel remain on standby to monitor travel, whether it is local homecoming or also homecoming from Jakarta to Central Java, East Java,” he continued.
Points expected to see heavy vehicle movement during local homecoming include Jabodetabek, Solo Raya, Surabaya, and Bali. Inspector General Agus assured that the potential increase in vehicle volume has already been anticipated.
“So from Jabodetabek, there is Solo Raya, there might be in Surabaya, Malang Raya, Bali, this has already been anticipated,” he stated.
In addition, Inspector General Agus explained the possibility of vehicle density after the Eid celebrations at tourist locations. Security in tourist areas will also be enhanced.
“In addition to the return flow, agglomeration, I remind again that tourist spots will be tightened for guarding, security, and escorting,” he said.
“Regarding tourist spots, we have already anticipated from the command post to all units, including at ports; Bakauheni, Merak, Gilimanuk, we have anticipated everything,” he added.
