The Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Irjen Pol. Agus Suryonugroho inspected the Integrated Checkpoint at KM 57 in West Java Police jurisdiction to ensure Operation Ketupat 2026 is executed optimally on Monday, 17 March 2026.

Kakorlantas reported that traffic flow conditions remained controlled despite increases in vehicle volume across several road segments. The inspection followed his accompaniment of the National Police Chief in monitoring security preparedness in Central Java.

On the same day, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo conducted a direct inspection at the Kalikangkung Integrated Checkpoint in Central Java and continued the Ramadan Safari series of activities.

“Operation Ketupat this year is directly controlled by the National Police Chief to ensure that the entire sequence of security measures for homebound and return traffic flows proceeds smoothly,” Kakorlantas stated.

From preliminary monitoring results, vehicle flows departing the Jakarta region towards the Trans-Java route, heading towards Banten and crossing towards Sumatra, showed increases.

“From projections of approximately 3.5 million vehicles estimated to head towards Trans-Java, West Java, Cikupa, Banten, and Sumatra, about 28 percent have already departed Jakarta. Therefore, we are still managing approximately 72 percent more,” Kakorlantas said.

Kakorlantas also appreciated the West Java Police Chief Irjen Pol. Rudi Setiawan for choosing to rest at the Integrated Checkpoint at the KM 57 Rest Area. He ensured direct oversight of vehicle movements entering and exiting West Java towards Central Java.

“I express my appreciation to the Police Chief. The Police Chief is sleeping at this checkpoint during the operation. This should be known to all,” he stated.

Overall, traffic conditions remain controlled, although vehicle volume increases have been recorded on several road segments.

The government’s Work From Anywhere policy and Joint Decision Letter have been valued for helping distribute public movement so that congestion does not occur at a single time.

“With this Work From Anywhere policy, departures are spread out. The government’s decisive policy regarding the Joint Decision Letter is very strategic for managing the flow of traffic,” he said.

Finally, Kakorlantas conveyed that the homecoming journey is a journey of longing. Therefore, the Traffic Corps together with stakeholders ensures Operation Ketupat runs safely and happily from departure to return.

“Operation Ketupat is not merely a traffic operation, not merely an operation securing homebound and return traffic flows, but the state and Police with stakeholders are present to ensure that the activities during the holy month of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and Nyepi Day including the commotion within it must be safe. Safe in terms of public order and security and safe in terms of traffic safety and security,” Kakorlantas concluded.
