Jakarta — National Police Headquarters has affirmed its commitment to eradicating drug trafficking, including when it involves its own personnel. Regarding the case ensnaring former Bima City Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Didik Putra Kuncoro, the National Police guarantee no special treatment or impunity will be granted.
"The National Police of the Republic of Indonesia once again affirms its commitment to not tolerating any form of narcotics and psychotropic substance abuse, whether committed by the public or by internal National Police personnel," said National Police Public Relations Division Chief Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir at a press conference on Sunday (February 15, 2026).
Inspector General Isir said the National Police recognize that public trust is the primary asset in carrying out their duties. Therefore, the institution will take firm action against anyone who damages the credibility of the National Police.
"Every action that could potentially damage the credibility of the National Police institution must be dealt with firmly and proportionally. In this context, the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has taken law enforcement action against police personnel and their family members involved in illicit drug trafficking," he said.
"This is concrete proof that there is no safe haven for criminals, whoever they may be," he continued.
Inspector General Isir assured that the enforcement process remains grounded in legal facts and sufficient evidence. Through professional and transparent investigation mechanisms, the National Police ensure all legal stages are carried out upholding the presumption of innocence while firmly adhering to applicable statutory provisions.
"We ensure that no special treatment is given to National Police personnel or their families. Once again, the National Police leadership has been firm and guarantees that there is no impunity for police personnel involved in narcotics networks," he said.
Previously, Bareskrim named former Bima City Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Didik Putra Kuncoro as a suspect in a drug case. The designation followed a case review conducted by investigators. An ethics hearing for Adj. Sr. Comr. Didik will be held soon, scheduled for Thursday, February 19, 2026.
