National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has ordered the National Police's Labour Desk to continue providing support to all workers, particularly those who have fallen victim to redundancies.

The directive was delivered by General Sigit during his address at the 53rd anniversary celebration of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI), held at PT Victory Chinglu Indonesia in Pasar Kemis, Tangerang Regency. The Police Chief stated that the National Police, through its Labour Desk, continues to work on mitigating the impact on workers to prevent redundancies.

"We all want whatever happens to be mitigated as much as possible so that it does not affect our fellow workers. The Labour Desk must truly provide the best possible service to our fellow workers, especially those affected by redundancies," General Sigit said in his address.

Beyond this, the Police Chief also instructed his ranks to consistently provide support and maximum service when workers are fighting for their rights. General Sigit explained that the National Police is committed to helping maintain the investment climate.

"Furthermore, we also accompany workers when they are fighting for their rights, and we continue our efforts to ensure that the investment climate keeps growing," Sigit said.

"So that there are also new spaces or workplaces for fellow workers who have been affected. This is something we continue to do," he added.

On this occasion, the Police Chief also reiterated the National Police's commitment to championing workers' rights. This commitment aims to realise the welfare of workers.

"On this 53rd anniversary, our hope is that the struggle of all our fellow workers to achieve worker welfare becomes our shared endeavour. Therefore, the National Police will certainly continue to support whatever our fellow workers are fighting for," the Police Chief explained.

The Police Chief said the government also wants industrial relations to function well. Conducive industrial relations are expected to ensure that company operations continue to run smoothly, enabling workers to achieve welfare.

"And this is certainly our shared hope. Therefore, we also want to encourage the business climate and investment climate in Indonesia to truly grow, so as to open up the widest possible employment opportunities," he said.
