National Police Chief Instructs Densus 88 to Maintain "Zero Terrorist Attack" Record During Eid 2026
Jakarta, 2 March 2026 – National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has instructed Densus 88 Counter-Terrorism Unit of the Indonesian Police to maintain the zero terrorist attack record that has been successfully preserved over the past three years during the 2026 Eid holiday period.
The directive was conveyed by Sigit during an Inter-Sectoral Coordination Meeting at the Mutiara Auditorium, STIK-PTIK Police Education and Training Institute, Jakarta, on Monday (2 March 2026), under the theme “Safe Exodus, Happy Families.”
“Regarding terrorist acts, this is certainly a matter of our concern. From 2023 to 2026, we have succeeded in preventing terrorist attacks. This means we continue to implement various measures, starting with preventive strikes,” said Sigit in his presentation.
Sigit revealed that throughout 2025, the Indonesian Police secured 51 suspected terrorists. Nevertheless, he cautioned that threats remain potential.
Currently, the police are monitoring 13,252 targets within their surveillance radar.
According to Sigit, vigilance must be heightened amid a warming global geopolitical situation.
“Moreover, Iran has raised the red flag as a symbol of retaliation and warning of attacks occurring in Iran. This is certainly a challenge, particularly for the Densus unit, to maintain Zero Terrorist Attack,” Sigit said.
For this reason, Sigit requested his team strengthen coordination with intelligence agencies, the military, and local governments to conduct renewed data collection and strict monitoring of groups suspected of terrorism.
Also present were representatives from the military, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), as well as officials from state-owned enterprises such as Pertamina, Jasa Marga, and Jasa Raharja.
The meeting was attended by 302 participants directly, including 28 senior officials from National Police Headquarters and 36 regional police chiefs from across Indonesia. District police chiefs and members of regional leadership coordination forums participated virtually.
