The National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, attended an iftar event with a number of community organisations (ormas) and youth organisations (OKP). The event was also attended by students from various campuses in Jakarta.

The joint iftar event was held at the Mutiara Auditorium of STIK/PTIK Polri in South Jakarta, on Thursday (26/2/2026). The event began at 17:00 WIB.

General Sigit arrived wearing his complete Polri uniform, including a black peci. He was accompanied by Komjen Yuda Gustawan, the Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Irjen Asep Edi Suheri, and a number of senior officials (PJU) from the Polri Headquarters.

The event began with a recitation of the Quran by young qari Muhammad Zian Fahrezi and a tilawah by Risa Rosalia Dewi. This was followed by the distribution of aid to representatives of the orphans present.

The event continued with a Ramadan sermon delivered by Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS) and a joint iftar.

Previously, on Wednesday (25/5), the National Police Chief also held an event to distribute meals and have an iftar with members of the press. This event was a form of strengthening ties and synergy between the Polri and the media.

“This is of course part of our efforts to continue maintaining good relations, which is also one of our strengths,” said General Sigit at the Rupatama Building of Polri, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (25/2).

General Sigit stated that the media is a very strategic partner for the Polri institution. According to him, the voice of the media is the voice of the public.

“Therefore, of course, we would like to express our highest gratitude and appreciation to our friends in the media who continue to provide information,” said General Sigit.

“And of course, these things become a benchmark, so that when the media voices the voice of the public, it also means that we must immediately act and respond quickly. Because we realise that the voice of the media is the voice of the public that must be heard,” he added.

The National Police Chief emphasised that the Polri institution has a responsibility to carry out what the media continues to voice, given that it represents the interests of the community.

“Our strength, the strength of our nation, is always to maintain unity, to maintain cohesion in facing various challenges, national challenges, and state challenges,” concluded General Sigit.
