National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the government has provided assurances to the public regarding the availability of fuel oil amidst global crisis dynamics. The public has been urged not to worry and to remain calm to prevent panic buying from occurring.

This was conveyed by General Sigit following the completion of the Ramadan Safari activity at East Java Regional Police Headquarters (Mapolda) in Surabaya on Saturday, 14 March 2026. The fraternisation activity was attended by Islamic scholars and leaders, labour leaders, student activists, artists, and online motorcycle taxi communities.

General Sigit explained that the government continues to mitigate the potential impact of rising global oil prices triggered by conflict in the Middle East. He affirmed that the stability of subsidised fuel prices remains a government priority so as not to burden the public.

“The public need not worry, particularly regarding fuel prices which have consistently been subsidised by the government, namely Pertalite (RON 90) and Diesel. The government will continue to provide subsidies so that the public need not be overly concerned and panic buying does not occur,” General Sigit stated firmly.

He added that concrete measures have been prepared by President Prabowo Subianto’s government to ensure fuel stocks remain secure and distribution runs smoothly across all regions.

Nevertheless, during this agenda the National Police Chief noted that Indonesia is currently facing implications of international tensions impacting the energy and food sectors. Consequently, he called upon all national elements to remain united and support the government’s strategic programmes.

“All the national potential we possess must be united so that in future we can collectively stand on our own feet. We support government programmes related to food and energy security so that we can capitalise on the demographic dividend momentum towards the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said.

The Ramadan Safari event was also attended by senior Islamic scholars including KH Anwar Mansur, Principal of Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, KH Miftaqul Ahyar, General Leader of the PBNU, and KH Anwar Iskandar, Chairman of the Central Indonesian Islamic Council (MUI). Also present were East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak, Commander of Military Region V/Brawijaya Major General Rudy Saladin, and East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto.

During this working visit, the National Police Chief was accompanied by senior officials from the National Police Headquarters, including Inspector General Yuda Gustawan (Head of Intelligence), Inspector General Mohamad Fadil Imran (Operations Assistant to the National Police Chief), Inspector General Anwar (Head of Human Resources), Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir (Head of Public Relations), and Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho (Head of Traffic Corps).
