National Police Chief Donates Blood at KSPSI's 53rd Anniversary Celebration
Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo donated blood whilst attending the 53rd anniversary celebration of the Confederation of All Indonesian Workers' Unions (KSPSI) on Monday.
According to an official statement, the Police Chief initially inspected a number of activities held as part of the KSPSI anniversary celebrations at PT Victory Ching Luh Indonesia in Tangerang, Banten.
He subsequently visited the blood donation area and immediately decided to donate his own blood for the benefit of those in need of blood transfusions. He was then examined by medical personnel and, after being declared fit, proceeded with the blood donation process.
After donating blood, he chatted with, greeted, and obliged workers and members of the public who wished to take photographs together.
In his address, the four-star general reaffirmed the National Police's commitment to continuing its support for workers' struggles towards greater prosperity.
"We, particularly from the National Police, will continue to support programmes related to the protection of workers' rights, which must be continuously safeguarded and upheld," he said.
He expressed his hope that sound industrial relations would be established in the future, whereby companies operate successfully and workers enjoy prosperity.
Furthermore, the Police Chief also emphasised that the National Police's Labour Desk would continue to provide the best possible services, particularly in assisting workers affected by redundancies.
"The labour desk will certainly continue to provide optimal support, including finding the solutions needed so that fellow workers always receive assistance and certainty regarding their future," he said.
