National Police Chief and Military Commander conduct aerial patrol to inspect Lebaran exodus readiness at Merak Port
JAKARTA — National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo conducted an aerial helicopter patrol to inspect the readiness of security and services for the Lebaran 2026 exodus and return migration at Merak Port on Friday, 13 March 2026.
The aerial patrol was undertaken alongside various relevant officials, including the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto.
“This aerial patrol is being conducted to ensure the readiness of security and services for the Lebaran exodus and return migration for the community,” stated the National Police Public Relations Division on Friday.
In addition to aerial monitoring, the National Police Chief and stakeholders scheduled a coordination meeting in the Merak Port area to ensure smooth security operations for Operation Ketupat 2026.
The series of activities will continue with direct inspections of ferries used by migrants to travel to their hometowns.
The National Police Chief and his delegation will also inspect integrated security posts and disaster alert command centres deployed during the exodus period.
Previously, during a force assembly briefing on Thursday, 12 March 2026, National Police Chief Sigit emphasised that the success of Lebaran exodus security through Operation Ketupat 2026 is a shared responsibility of all involved parties.
“On this occasion, I need to emphasise again that the success of Operation Ketupat is our shared responsibility. Therefore, continue to strengthen solidarity and synergy in every task implementation,” Sigit stated in his address on Thursday.
Operation Ketupat 2026 will be conducted for 13 days, from 13 to 25 March 2026.
The operation involves 161,243 combined personnel from the National Police, TNI, and various related ministries and agencies.
