Jakarta (ANTARA) — The National Police have affirmed zero tolerance for internal personnel proven to be involved in drug cases, in connection with the naming of inactive Bima City Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Didik Putra Kuncoro as a suspect in alleged drug possession.

National Police Public Relations Division Chief Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir said in Jakarta on Sunday that the National Police are law enforcers entrusted with eradicating all forms of crime, including narcotics, which constitutes an extraordinary crime. "The National Police of the Republic of Indonesia once again affirms its commitment to not tolerating any form of narcotics and psychotropic substance abuse, whether committed by the public or by internal National Police personnel," he said at a press conference.

The National Police, Johnny said, recognize that public trust is the primary asset in carrying out their duties. Therefore, every action that could potentially damage the institution's credibility must be dealt with firmly and proportionally.

He further confirmed that the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has taken law enforcement action against the police personnel and their family members involved in illicit drug trafficking. "This is concrete proof that there is no safe haven for criminals, whoever they may be," he said.

According to Johnny, the enforcement actions remain grounded in legal facts and sufficient evidence. All legal stages are carried out upholding the presumption of innocence while firmly adhering to statutory provisions. Stricter examination standards are being applied to safeguard the dignity of the National Police institution, in line with National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo's instructions to conduct consistent and sustained internal cleansing.

"We ensure that no special treatment is given to National Police personnel or their families. Once again, the National Police leadership has been firm and guarantees that there is no impunity for police personnel involved in narcotics networks," he said.

The Bareskrim Narcotics Crime Directorate announced on Friday (February 13) the naming of Adj. Sr. Comr. Didik as a suspect in alleged drug possession. The case unfolded from the arrest of two household assistants belonging to police suspect Brig. IR and his wife, AN, with 30.415 grams of methamphetamine seized as evidence at the couple's private residence.

From the interrogation conducted by the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Narcotics Division, the involvement of Adj. Comr. Malaungi (ML) in the network was uncovered. Subsequent examination by the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Professional and Security Division of Adj. Comr. ML returned positive results for amphetamine and methamphetamine. A search of Adj. Comr. ML's office and official residence then uncovered five packages of methamphetamine weighing 488.496 grams. It was from there that Adj. Sr. Comr. Didik's involvement was traced.

"Based on statements from Adj. Comr. ML, there is involvement of Adj. Sr. Comr. DPK in this alleged narcotics abuse," Johnny said.

A joint team from the National Police Professional and Security Division's Internal Affairs Bureau and the Bareskrim Narcotics Crime Directorate subsequently conducted a search of Adj. Sr. Comr. DPK's private residence in Tangerang on Wednesday (February 11). At the location, investigators found 16.3 grams of methamphetamine, 50 ecstasy pills, 19 alprazolam pills, 2 happy five pills, and 5 grams of ketamine.

Currently, Adj. Sr. Comr. Didik has not been detained as he is still under special placement by the Professional and Security Division while awaiting an ethics hearing scheduled for Thursday (February 19).
