National Land Agency Partners with ANTARA to Publicise Land Programmes in Central Papua
Manokwari (ANTARA) – The West Papua Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN) has established cooperation with the Central Papua Bureau of the state-owned news agency LKBN ANTARA to expand the dissemination of land programme information to the public. This was formalised through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the Head of the West Papua Regional Office of BPN, Kelly Fentiruma, and the Head of the ANTARA Central Papua Bureau, Evarianus Supar, in Arfai, Manokwari, on Tuesday. The Head of the West Papua Regional Office of BPN, Kelly Fentiruma, said that the cooperation with the mass media, particularly the state-owned national news agency, is a strategic step to ensure that programmes and policies are widely, accurately, and impartially known to the public. According to him, ANTARA, as the country’s official news agency, has a very extensive distribution network, reaching national and even international levels, making it an ideal strategic partner for disseminating credible and reliable information. The dissemination of BPN programmes aims to ensure that communities in West Papua and Southwest Papua can understand their rights and obligations, and to facilitate access to land services available through the nearest office. Kelly hopes that through massive and continuous publication, public awareness can be increased to manage land legality, prevent land conflicts, and support legal certainty regarding land ownership. “Hopefully, this cooperation with ANTARA will further strengthen performance and public trust in land services,” said Kelly. The Head of the ANTARA Central Papua Bureau, Evarianus Supar, said that his office is ready to support the dissemination of land information through various news channels, including text, photos, and videos on digital platforms. As a national news agency, ANTARA has a mandate to provide fast, accurate, and balanced information, including strategic government programmes in the region. “This cooperation is part of an effort to provide quality public information, especially in the land sector, which is directly related to people’s lives,” he said. He affirmed that ANTARA will carry out its journalistic function professionally and independently, while always prioritising the public interest through factual and accountable reporting. The synergy between BPN and the national media is crucial to support regional development, create legal certainty regarding land, which is the foundation for investment and welfare for the community. “With clear and easily accessible information, the public can understand land procedures and minimise the potential for disputes,” said Evarianus.
