National Investment Reaches Rp465.2 Trillion in Q1 2025, Tourism Sector Contributes Rp41 Trillion
Warta Ekonomi, Jakarta — Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Deputy Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Todotua Pasaribu revealed that national investment realisation reached Rp465.2 trillion in the first quarter of 2025. He stated that one of the main contributors to this investment realisation was the services sector, including tourism, valued at Rp41 trillion.
Todotua made the remarks during the inauguration of the Westin Nirup Island Resort and Spa on Nirup Island, Batam.
"Indonesia's investment realisation data for the first quarter of this year shows an achievement of Rp465.2 trillion, or 24.4% of the President's target. The other services sector is the fourth-largest contributor, which includes tourism," said Todotua, as quoted from a BKPM press release on Thursday (12 June).
On the same occasion, Todotua noted that the Riau Islands demonstrated significant potential as an investment destination, with a realisation value of Rp148.65 trillion during the 2020–2024 period. Batam was recorded as the largest contributor, accounting for 61.99% of the province's total investment, equivalent to Rp92.15 trillion.
"Although the technology industry sector remains dominant, the growth opportunities for the tourism sector in this region are enormous," he added.
Todotua stated that the government is committed to supporting investment in the tourism sector, in line with the long-term direction of investment policy.
"We are fully confident that the Westin Nirup Island Resort and Spa will bring a new concept of integrated tourism, particularly in Batam, and furthermore will attract more investment in the Riau Islands and across Indonesia," he concluded.
