The company PT P that deposited replacement funds of IDR 100 billion with the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) in the alleged corruption case concerning the utilisation of forest areas for plantation activities in Way Kanan Regency is strongly suspected to be PT Pemuka Sakti Manis Indah (PSMI).

A source from Kupastuntas.co stated that the company PT P depositing IDR 100 billion with the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office is PT Pemuka Sakti Manis Indah, a subsidiary of Gunung Madu Plantations (GMP).

The source explained that the forest area management in Way Kanan Regency originally belongs to PT Inhutani V. Subsequently, PT Inhutani V granted management permission to PT Silva Inhutani Lampung, a subsidiary of Bumi Waras (BW).

However, the source continued, because the managed forest area was too vast and not all could be utilised by PT Silva Inhutani Lampung, the remaining land was given to PT PSMI, around 10,000 hectares. This land was then planted with sugarcane, as PT PSMI produces granulated sugar.

Feeling aggrieved by the granting of land permission to PT PSMI, PT Silva Inhutani Lampung through BW reported the case to Bareskrim and the Attorney General’s Office.

Eventually, the case is now being handled by the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office. Until yesterday, there was a deposit of replacement funds by PT P or PT PSMI amounting to IDR 100 billion with the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office, the source revealed.

Information received by the Kupas Tuntas editorial team indicates that the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office is also investigating who issued the sugar factory business licence and location permit to PT PSMI.

It turns out that PT PSMI holds a sugar factory business licence from the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) due to foreign investment (PMA). Meanwhile, the location permit, as it falls under the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW), was issued by the Way Kanan Regional Government.

Until this news was published, Kupastuntas.co reporters were still attempting to confirm with the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office and PT PSMI.

For information, PT Pemuka Sakti Manis Indah is a foreign investment company operating in integrated sugarcane plantations and a sugar factory in Pakuan Ratu Subdistrict, Way Kanan Regency, Lampung, established on 22 October 1990. The company manages thousands of hectares of land, produces crystal sugar, and partners with local communities.

PT PSMI has core land of 8,692.80 hectares and independent partner land of 10,536.53 hectares (2023 data) and uses a system for plantation mapping. PT PSMI produces granulated sugar under the “PSM” brand.

Previously, the Head of the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office, Danang Suryo Wibowo, explained that the investigation process for the case has been running for more than one month since the issuance of the Investigation Order on 5 January 2026.

“PT P has deposited part of the replacement funds for state financial losses amounting to IDR 100 billion, which has entered the Other Government Account (RPL) of the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office. This deposit is a form of good faith,” said Danang during a press conference at the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday (25/2/2026).

Danang emphasised that the deposit of replacement funds does not eliminate the criminal element or halt the ongoing legal process. The funds will be deposited into the state treasury after the case gains legal force.

In the investigation process, the investigation team has examined 59 witnesses. The details are: eight witnesses from PT I as the state-owned enterprise managing the area, 13 witnesses from PT P, 14 witnesses from district and provincial government elements, and 24 witnesses from farmer groups. In addition, three experts have been questioned.

According to Danang, the number of witnesses and experts may still increase according to the needs of proving the case. Meanwhile, the exact value of state losses is still in the process of calculation by experts.

“The investigation team has also conducted two searches based on orders dated 5 January 2026 and 19 February 2026. The searches were carried out at several locations in Lampung as well as outside the area, namely DKI Jakarta and West Java,” he explained.

The Assistant for Special Crimes (Aspidsus) of the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office, Budi Nugraha, added that the case relates to alleged corruption in the utilisation of forest areas in Way Kanan Regency.
