Myanmar, Thailand set up new airline

YANGOON (Reuter): Myanmar Airlines and Krong Sombat Co Ltd of
Thailand signed a joint venture agreement yesterday to form
Yangon Airways Ltd.

Yangon Airlines will fly initally fly domestic routes with two
Fokker F-50 aircraft. Operations are set to begin within six
months, Transport Ministry officials said.

Yangon Airways will be the third airline jointly established
between the government-run Myanmar Airways and foreign partners.
