The Head of Musi Banyuasin Resort Police, AKBP God Parlasro Sinaga, on Wednesday (9/7/2025) inaugurated the Community Police Partnership Post (BKPM) in Rimba Ukur Village (C5), Sekayu District, Muba Regency.

The BKPM building, which serves as a police post for the Sekayu Sector Police jurisdiction, was built through community self-funding as a demonstration of public support for the Indonesian National Police in maintaining security and order in the area. The inauguration was marked by the signing of an inscription plaque by the Muba Police Chief.

Among those in attendance were Musi Banyuasin Deputy Police Chief KOMPOL Iwan Wahyudi, senior officers, the Sekayu Sector Police Chief, community leaders, religious figures, youth leaders, and Muba PWI (Indonesian Journalists Association) Deputy Chairman Rafik Elyas.

In his remarks, the Village Head of Rimba Ukur, Pi'u, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Police Chief and the Muba Resort Police personnel for attending the inauguration in person. "I am deeply grateful and, on behalf of the Rimba Ukur community, I directly request that AIPDA Perlindungan Pane be appointed as the Head of the Rimba Ukur BKPM," he said. The Village Head also expressed hope that the presence of the post would make Rimba Ukur Village safer with police stationed in their midst.

Meanwhile, in his address, the Muba Police Chief stated that the existence of the BKPM post was an honour for the Muba Resort Police, as it was built through the spirit of community mutual cooperation (gotong royong). "I am truly impressed by the Rimba Ukur community, who self-funded the construction of this BKPM post, especially given its highly strategic location at a crossroads connecting three sub-districts: Sungai Keruh, Plakat Tinggi, and Sekayu," he said.

The Police Chief further emphasised that the police cannot work alone without community support. This collaboration demonstrates that security and order are a shared responsibility. "If we rely solely on the police, it certainly would not be sufficient. This post will have a positive impact on maintaining security and order across this considerably vast area," he added.

With the establishment of this BKPM post, it is hoped that an ever-closer partnership between the community and the police will be forged, and that it will serve as a centre for community development activities and services benefiting local residents.
