Murderer gets life imprisonment

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Twenty-year-old Hasan Basri Ginting,
alias Elly, was sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday after
the Medan District Court found him guilty of murdering three
people, Antara reported.

According to presiding judge M. Bahauddin Qaudri, Elly killed
65-year old Ayung, 22-year old Asna and Ayung's son, 13-year-old
Nawawi on July 1995. He committed the murders after Ayung accused
him of raping Asna, who was Ayung's servant.

The judge said on Thursday that Elly did not only kill the
three, but also crushed their faces beyond recognition with a
large rock. (swe)
