Muhaimin: Indonesia's Membership in Board of Peace Defends Palestinian Interests
Jakarta — Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar has affirmed that Indonesia’s membership in the Board of Peace (BoP) is intended to facilitate humanitarian assistance to Palestine in a more targeted and effective manner.
“The BoP and the global diplomatic steps undertaken by the President are measures to maximise our role. If aid to Gaza is frequently disrupted or obstructed, we must find channels to ensure such assistance reaches its target and enters Gaza effectively. This means not relying solely on aid delivered by aircraft, but enabling it to enter Gaza more freely,” said Muhaimin Iskandar in Jakarta on Monday.
According to Muhaimin, in addition to Indonesia’s BoP membership, President Prabowo Subianto’s various visits to different countries also constitute efforts to advocate for Palestine.
Furthermore, membership in the BoP, he continued, aims to safeguard national economic strength.
Muhaimin appealed to the public not to debate Indonesia’s involvement in the international Board of Peace forum.
“Therefore, let us not quarrel over strategic matters, as they all have their purpose. Within the framework of diplomatic implementation, not everything can be disclosed by the President. What I wish to convey is the need to protect our industrial production, to safeguard our national economic interests, and to enable us to provide even greater assistance to Gaza and Palestine. This is what we are doing,” said Menko Muhaimin Iskandar.
