YOGYAKARTA – The journey from Prambanan to Purwomartani in the Yogyakarta region can now be completed in approximately 15 minutes via toll road.

This travel time is significantly shorter than via national roads, which typically takes around 30 minutes.

Ahmad Izzi, Senior Technical Expert for General Affairs in Public Relations and Administration at the Road Toll Business Entity (BUJT) PT Jasa Marga Jogja–Solo, stated that the toll road helps cut travel time by approximately half compared to the usual route.

He made this statement during the Lebaran exodus monitoring activity in West Java, Central Java, and the Special Region of Yogyakarta held in Yogyakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.

“This toll road can essentially save about half the travel time. For instance, from Prambanan to here usually takes about 30 minutes, but with the toll road it could be around 15 minutes,” Izzi said.

“On the national road there are three locations where congestion typically occurs. First at the at-grade intersection at Prambanan, then in the Bogem area which also frequently experiences congestion, and approaching Purwomartani in the LPMP area due to numerous access roads,” he explained.

Izzi explained that the toll road is expected to serve as an alternative for exodus travellers passing through that region, particularly during the Lebaran exodus when vehicle volumes increase.

With shorter travel time, the journey from Prambanan to Purwomartani is expected to be smoother compared to the national route which has several congestion points.

The functional operational period of this toll road runs from 16 March 2026 to 29 March 2026.

“The functional operation during those dates is because not all supporting facilities are ready yet, so it will only operate from 06:00 to 18:00 Western Indonesian Time. So the operation runs from the 16th to the 29th, from 06:00 to 18:00 Western Indonesian Time,” Izzi concluded.
