Mud from the construction project of the Green SM taxi pool on Jalan Raya Ciater, Serua, Ciputat, South Tangerang City, has spilled onto the road body, causing traffic jams.

As a result of the incident, the South Tangerang City Government has requested that the developers immediately build their own drainage system so that project mud does not flow onto the main road again.

“It should have its own drainage channel. Do not burden the existing road drainage,” said Deputy Mayor of South Tangerang Pilar Saga Ichsan during a site visit on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

He assessed that the absence of drainage in the project area caused soil material to be carried by rainwater and spill onto the main road.

“If I had a project, I would build the ditch first. Not burdening the existing road drainage,” he said.

Pilar stated that the incident directly impacted the activities of the community around the project location.

“There was a report last night of traffic jams lasting up to two hours. That is very detrimental to the public,” he added.

Therefore, the South Tangerang City Government has asked the developers to immediately carry out excavation for water channels in the project area as a quick handling step.

“The quickest thing we ask to be done is excavation for drainage. Do not let the mud enter the road zone,” said Pilar.

According to him, the area is at risk of landslides that could head towards residents’ houses around it.

“Reinforcement of walls near residents’ houses must also be considered, do not let anything collapse,” he said.

Pilar asked the company or contractor to ensure that all construction activities do not disturb the surrounding community.
