Beijing (ANTARA) - The Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), Ahmad Muzani, met with the Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Wang Huning, in Beijing on Monday.
“I wish to convey greetings from President Prabowo Subianto to CPPCC Chairman Wang Huning. The relationship between Indonesia and China is mutually supportive across various sectors,” said Ahmad Muzlamni during the meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday afternoon.
During the meeting, Ahmad Muzani was accompanied by MPR Deputy Speakers Lestari Moerdijat from the NasDem Party faction and Rusdi Kirana from the National Awakening Party (PKB) faction.
This visit serves as a reciprocal visit following Wang Huning’s visit to Jakarta in December 2025.
“China is willing to work alongside Indonesia in following the strategic directions of both heads of state to continue driving the achievement of new agreements within the friendship of our two nations,” said Wang Huning.
Wang Huning also expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome provided by the Indonesian government during his visit to Jakarta.
“The abundance of bilateral activities between our two countries demonstrates that our relationship is becoming increasingly robust and mutually driving the achievement of our respective national interests,” added Wang Huning.
Wang Huning emphasised that the CPPCC is prepared to maintain close interaction with the MPR, expand exchanges and cooperation, deepen discussions regarding state governance and administration, and better support the development and resurgence of both nations.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Muzani stated that Indonesia and China mutually support each other’s respective government policies.
“Indonesia and China both uphold our respective sovereignty and national interests, as well as maintain regional peace and security, because peace also supports economic activities that lead to the welfare of the people,” Muzani added.
On Sunday (20/9), Muzani also met with the Chairman of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Zhao Leji, which is China’s legislative body. This meeting also took place at the Great Hall of the People in China.
Wang Huning previously visited Indonesia in December 2025 and met with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on 4 December 2025.
During that visit, Wang stated that since diplomatic relations were established 75 years ago, China-Indonesia relations have developed rapidly, and both countries wish to strengthen cooperation across various fields.
During his visit to Jakarta, Wang Huning also met with the Speaker of the MPR Ahmad Muzani, the Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani, and the Speaker of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Sultan B. Najamudin at the Parliament Complex on Wednesday (3/12).
The CPPCC is a political advisory body that gathers aspirations and recommendations from the public in China.
Wang is the fourth-ranking senior official in the Chinese government structure, following President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Zhao Leji.
