MPR Secretariat Signals Additional Sanctions for Quiz Competition Jury Panel Following Four Pillars Controversy
The MPR RI Secretariat General is examining additional sanctions against the jury panel for the final round of the 2026 Four Pillars Quiz Competition at the West Kalimantan provincial level following the judging error controversy. It is known that the MPR RI has already imposed a deactivation sanction on the said jury from this year’s series of Four Pillars Quiz Competition activities. “If there are other administrative sanctions, there are rules and processes for them. That is currently in the process,” said MPR RI Secretary General Siti Fauziah during a press conference at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/5/2026). Siti explained that the secretariat will investigate the jury from the MPR’s internal based on applicable regulations from the State Civil Service Agency (BKN). “Because only today we communicated with the MPR leadership, so we will look at the applicable rules from BKN. Is there any element that could be related to the existing rules in BKN?” she said. She also assured that the jury panel will not be involved again in the MPR RI’s 2026 Four Pillars Quiz Competition, including in the special rescheduled competition for the West Kalimantan provincial level final. According to Siti, the jury for the rescheduled competition to be held in May will be taken from independent elements. “We will take from government agencies and academics,” she said. Meanwhile, regarding public calls for the relevant jury to issue a personal apology, Siti said that the MPR RI Secretariat General has conveyed the institution’s apology in a written statement. “That already represents the one activity. Meaning, it’s not personal anymore, but institutional, from the secretariat, that directly apologises,” she said.
