MPR factions' accord quite a relief
MPR factions' accord quite a relief
From Republika
The accord of 11 factions of the People's Consultative
Assembly (MPR) to curb tension among the national political
elite, particularly in facing the annual MPR session, is a relief
for the people at large. At least there is a kind of guarantee
now that the MPR has agreed not to put in its agenda the
replacement of President. If they stick to this accord, it could
even become an embryo for the development of other accords
capable of securing political stability and security. If so, it
is unquestionably a meaningful contribution to the laying of
foundations for remedying a multicrisis situation.
Admitted or not, the political tension triggered by the
controversy of the political elite is one of the factors
hindering efforts to restore the worsening situation. Logically,
if the controversy drags on, this country's turmoil will worsen.
Therefore, the initiative of MPR factions deserves a follow up by
making the security stability conducive.
It is the leaders at the grassroots level that are demanded to
be capable of materializing security by introducing and
establishing a synergy among various religious communities and
ethnic groups in society. Rest assured that the creation of
political stability and security can be a basic guarantee for us
in trying to cure the multicrisis now ruining our country.
