Bekasi Regency (ANTARA) - Member of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Obon Tabroni, stated that to date, there are still local governments (pemda) and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) that are not aligned regarding the management of Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) kitchens.

“Because apparently, there is information that things are not yet in sync between local governments and BGN. Yes, after this meeting, they have received the decree, please follow up,” he said during the Aspiration Festival titled ‘From Kitchen to the Future’ in Bekasi on Monday.

According to him, several kitchens even had to be closed because they did not meet standards, both in terms of waste management and administration. “This is what we are facilitating so that there is a joint solution,” he said.

He explained that the theme ‘From Kitchen to the Future’ has a strategic meaning, namely that kitchen issues are not just about today, but directly related to the quality of future generations.

“First, speaking generally today, stunting rates in Indonesia are still high. Second, the average IQ of Indonesians compared to other countries is far behind. So, kitchen problems are not today’s issues, but the nation’s future problems,” he said.

Based on BGN data, around 300 kitchens in West Java have been closed because they do not meet standards.

“We heard from BGN that there are improvements, that’s why it’s great in West Java that 300 kitchens were closed because they do not comply with the rules for those kitchens,” he said.

This man from Bekasi Regency also assessed that various problems found are generally related to waste management and kitchen administration that do not yet meet standards.

“Things like waste processing and kitchen management must continue to be improved. Reports from the community must also be followed up,” he said.

“Yes, in essence today, I believe many problems enter local governments. But what does the local government want to do? Well, today there is from BGN, please in the future. I offer, perhaps meetings every two or three months for evaluation,” he said.

Bekasi Appreciated

Chairman of the People’s Aspiration Agency (BAM) of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Heryawan, appreciated the Bekasi Regency Government for its commitment and performance in supporting and succeeding President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita programme, especially in implementing the MBG programme.

He assessed that the steps taken by the Bekasi Regency Government show the region’s seriousness in realising the national programme into concrete policies and implementation in the field.

According to him, one indicator of the success of implementing the programme in Bekasi Regency is the maintenance of food quality and safety, reflected in the absence of extraordinary incidents due to food poisoning in the implementation of MBG to date.

Aher hopes that this achievement must continue to be maintained and improved, especially through strengthening supervision of SPPG kitchens spread throughout the Bekasi Regency area.

“In the future, supervision must continue to be strengthened and carried out consistently, so that all SPPG kitchens can meet the established standards and be able to guarantee food quality and safety for the community,” he said.
