MP assures Hajj implementation unaffected by conflict
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission VIII, Dini Rahmania, has assured that the Hajj implementation in 2026 will not be affected by the conflict situation in the Middle East region, after her team directly inspected the preparations for the Muslim pilgrimage series in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
With this assurance, according to her, the public and prospective Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are advised not to feel anxious or worried. For this reason, she urged pilgrims to prepare themselves well, both in terms of health, administrative completeness, and mental and spiritual readiness ahead of departure.
“The airlines that will transport Indonesian Hajj pilgrims, namely Garuda Indonesia and Saudia Airlines, have also guaranteed that flights for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are in safe conditions,” Dini said in a written statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
She conveyed that Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives had directly inspected Hajj worship preparations in Saudi Arabia in early April to check various services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims.
According to her, several key components of services for pilgrims have shown significant progress. Preparations for catering and hotel accommodation for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have each reached around 90 per cent.
Meanwhile, she assessed that bus transportation services are 100 per cent ready, and the process of issuing visas for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims has also reached 100 per cent. As for services in the Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina areas (Armuzna), according to her, they are currently in the completion stage with progress of around 50 per cent, and are being accelerated ahead of the peak of the Hajj worship implementation.
Prospective pilgrims are also reminded to remain confident and prepared, that the Hajj worship implementation will run well. With strong confidence and thorough preparation, she hopes that the entire series of Hajj worship can be carried out smoothly.
“With various preparations that continue to be refined, it is hoped that this year’s Hajj implementation can run smoothly, safely, and provide comfort for all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims,” she said.
