Motorcycle taxi driver killed
JAKARTA (JP): A motorcycle taxi driver from North Bekasi died yesterday after being slashed in his face, hands, thighs and feet.
His motorcycle was not found at the site.
The body of M. Salim, 57, was found by local residents at Kampung Rawa Bambu in Harapan Jaya district at around 6 a.m.
Second Lieutenant Margono of the Bekasi police precinct said the corpse was found lying on the side of a road.
"One of the residents knew the victim as a motorcycle taxi driver, but we failed to find his motorcycle," he said.
The police said Salim, of nearby Kampung Kaliabang in Pesung, was a father of two children.
His body was taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital in Central Jakarta for a post mortem.
Margono believed that the suspects attacked the victim in the early hours of yesterday before stealing the motorcycle.
"But the real motive has yet to be determined because the investigation is still underway," he said. (04)
