Monitoring Global Conflict Issues, Home Affairs Ministry Ensures Domestic Stability
The Directorate General of Political and Public Affairs (Ditjen Polpum) of the Home Affairs Ministry is conducting monitoring related to the dynamics of global issues that have captured public attention. Media monitoring from 1 February to 16 March 2026 recorded high intensity in reporting and public conversations in digital spaces, with a total of 12,044 online media articles and 29,707 conversations on social media.
This reflects the increasing public attention to developments in the global situation. Sentiment analysis shows a dominance of negative responses, particularly anger at 30.5 percent and sadness at 25.5 percent related to conflict escalations and humanitarian impacts.
“On the other hand, there is positive sentiment in the form of trust at 26.3 percent towards Indonesia’s role in promoting peaceful resolutions through diplomacy,” stated the Home Affairs Ministry release in Jakarta on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
These dynamics reflect high public expectations for the government’s role in maintaining national stability. Developments in global issues also impact economic and geopolitical dynamics. This includes disruptions to energy distribution routes, rising energy prices, and uncertainties in international financial markets.
At the national level, various indicators show conditions that remain under control, including the exchange rate around Rp 16,929 per US dollar, a decline in the stock market (IHSG) of 8.8 percent, and potential inflation in the range of 4.5-5.2 percent. Foreign exchange reserves of US$154.6 billion also serve as a supporting factor for national economic stability.
